6 Awesome Photospots in the Salzkammergut, Austria

So recently I packed my camera gear and some friends and went off for a road trip to our beautiful Salzkammergut. It’s amazing how many beautiful spots you can visit on one sunny winter day. All those photos have been shot with the Fujifilm X-T4 & 16–55mm f2.8 lens or the Leica Q2. Editing was done in LR. Get my presets here.

Gosauseen

First, we headed to the Gosauseen, they are a 1hour and 20-minute drive away from Salzburg city. You can park right next to the lake.

Hallstatt

So already everyone knows Hallstatt, it’s famous for its charming houses next to the Hallstätter See.

Ödensee

The next spot on the list was the Ödensee, that’s a 30-minute drive from Hallstatt. This location is definitely a winter wonderland and a big recommendation. There is a parking place right next to the lake.

Grundlsee

Since we’ve been already doing a lake tour, we headed towards the Grundlsee, which is about a 20-minute drive from the Ödensee.

Altauseer See

Next to the Grundlsee is the beautiful Altauseer See. We found this beautiful peer very close to the Vivamayer Hotel in Altausee. There is also a parking spot right in front of it.

Traunsee

And the last stop was the Traunsee. This was a 45-minute drive from the Altauseer See towards the north. We stopped in the middle of Traunkirchen and got this beautiful panorama.

After all, this was a great day. We saw many beautiful places, took some nice pictures, and enjoyed some coffee on the go. I can definitely recommend visiting this beautiful area. If you have any questions, drop me a message on Instagram @chrisperkles.
